Games as a Service

Video “Games as a Service” is one of the most common patterns for modern AAA titles. Gamers expect long live services, with ever increasing and changing amounts of content to stay engaged. When the purpose of the software you’re making is to generate “fun” it’s really crucial that you can keep on top of player sentiment and be able to adjust your development and environment rapidly to keep the engagement there.

In this session I’ll be looking at:

  • What a modern live service title might look like.
  • How we prepare for this in development.
  • How it looks in production.
  • How we develop and maintain a tight feedback loop to keep engaging content flowing.
